First time “ORGANIC MANURE”loading by Northern Railway

.Shri Rajiv Chaudhry, General Manager, Northern Railway and North Central Railway has explained that, the decision of setup of Business Development Units at Zonal & Divisional level has now started giving the yield as for the first time,Moradabad Division of Northern Railway has despatched 05 rakes(8700 tonnes) of Sugar to Nepal (Birganj) from Bijnor, Moradabad and Bareilly goods sheds and Delhi division of Northern Railway has started loading of “ORGANIC MANURE” from Adarsh Nagar to Hatia. So far, a total of 2667 tonnes of “ORGANIC MANURE” IN 02 mini rakes has been loaded and despatch to West Bengal.This ORGANIC MANURE” is being used in Tea Plantations and Nurseries in West Bengal. He further said, that the sugar loading to Nepal will strengthen & sweeten the ties between India and Nepal.

The Nation is fighting with COVID-19 Pandemic .The Indian Railways is also witnessed a challenge which was never faced by this organisation since its inception. After opening up of economy there was a great pressure to mobilise the economy and being life line of Nations economy the Indian Railways stood firm and contributing significantly to keep the wheels of economy in motion. The wheels of national transporter was halted when National lockdown was imposed. But Northern Railway, being pioneer in zonal Railways, took this disaster as an opportunity and initiated many step to bring back the share of Railways in goods transportation from Road to Rail.
