With the arrest of two desperate snatchers cum thieves named Shahjad Khan, Ajmeri Gate, Delhi, age-24 years and Abdul Razik, LalKuan, Delhi, age-25 years, the staff of Police station Pagar Ganj have solved 2 cases of snatchings.
THE INCIDENT :
During the last few days many incidents of snatching were taking place by motorcycle borne men at Pahar Ganj area. As they drive motorcycle very fast, catching them at the spot was very difficult. On 30.07.2020, complainant Garima Annad, Pahar Ganj, Delhi was walking on R.K. Ashram Metro Station near Imperial Cinema and talking over his mobile phone. Suddenly, two boys came on a m/cycle and snatched his mobile phone and disappeared in the crowd. Complainant lodged an e-FIR under section 379 IPC from his house. During the investigation as supplementary statement of complainant section 356 IPC added in this case. Accordingly a case of was investigated at Police Station Pahar Ganj vide e-FIR under section 356/379/34 and investigation was taken up.
To work out this case and other snatching cases a dedicated team comprising IO/HC Manoj Kumar No. 177/C, HC Raj Kumar No. 481/C and Ct. Anand No. 1369/C was constituted under the supervision of Inspector/SHO/Pahar Ganj Sunil kumar Chouhan and under the overall supervision of ACP/Pahar Ganj Sh. Om Prakash Lekhwal.
INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION
After registration of the case, investigation was taken up. Efforts were made to identify the accused persons from the CCTV cameras installed near place of incident and route of snatchers. The team carefully analysed the CCTV footage and identified the suspect/accused persons. The hard work yielded as secret informer shared a fruitful information about the culprits. Accordingly, a trap was laid down and the culprits were apprehended along with offending vehicle bearing registration no. DL 6SBC 6919. Both accused were arrested.
