Habitual chain snatcher nabbed, snatched Gold chain recovered


On 28/06/2020 at 8:10 PM the complainant Sh. Sanjay Chauhan was going home from Anand Parbat Industrial Area on his scooty and as he reached near Kamal Hotel, two boys snatched his gold chain and fled away. The complainant got an e-FIR registered regarding the incident on 30/06/2020 on his own. During investigation, appropriate penal section of snatching were added in the case and investigation taken up.


A dedicated team to crack the case was formed comprising of HC Ashok, Ct Naveen and Ct Vijay under the supervision of Inspector Mukesh Antil/ SHO Anand Parbat and under guidance of Sh. Piyush Jain, ACP/ Patel Nagar, Delhi. On 09/07/2020, the above staff was patrolling at Gadodia road when the complainant whose daily route to home from his factory is same, was passing through Gadodia road approached the patrolling staff as he had seen one of the two snatchers nearby on the same road. The team swung into action and rushed towards the place indicated by the complainant. On seeing the police and sensing danger, the accused started running away but was overpowered by the team after chasing him for a couple of hundred meters.


On sustained interrtion, the accused who has been identified as Kartik 19 yrs revealed that he along with Himanshu resident of Anand Parbat had snatched the gold chain from the complainant and deposited the same in Mannapuram Gold Loan company in DBG Road and took rupees 64,000/- in lieu of gold chain in question as security. The gold chain weighing around two tolas (20 Gms) has been recovered in the case.
Earlier, accused Kartik was apprehended in murder case of PS Anand Parbat, Delhi. He was granted parole of 45 days by JJB and was supposed to surrender before the JJB on 20/07/2020 but taking advantage of the liberty granted to him by the Hon’ble JJB, he got back to his old ways instead.


One gold chain weighing approx 20 gms.

DCP Sanjay Bhatia assures the citizen complete safely and at the same time reward his staff for the achieved cases and to continue the hard work.
