THE INCIDENT :
On 08/07/2020 at 7:35 PM a PCR call was received at PS Anand Parbat regarding firing at Gali No. 6, Nehru Nagar, Anand Parbat. The spot was visited and it revealed that injured Rajan aged 19 years who sustained gunshot injury was taken to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital by his associates where he was declared brought dead. Another person namely Ravi, who had received stab injuries, was taken to LHMC Hospital. In his statement, a FIR under section 307/302/34 IPC at Anand Parbat Police Station was registered and investigation was taken up.
During investigation, it was revealed that deceased Rajan was a resident of Rakhi Market Jhuggis in Moti Nagar whereas injured Ravi is a resident of Gali no.6 Nehru Nagar, Anand Parbat. Both localities are situated on either side of railway tracks passing below Jakhira flyover. Both were previously known to each other.
The juvenile is a school dropout. His father is a rickshaw puller. Due to bad company, he started committing petty street crime, which more often than not remained unreported. He also became addicted to drugs.
In the interrogation it was revelead that on 08/07/2020 at around 6:30 pm, while Rajan and his juvenile associate aged 17 yrs were roaming around in Nehru Nagar after crossing over the railway track, Ravi objected to it and had an altercation with Rajan. Ravi also slapped Rajan a couple of times. Both Rajan and his associate went back at that time. After an hour, Rajan with his associates reached the house of Ravi and stabbed Ravi who was standing in front of his house in the gali and the juvenile pulled out katta and fired upon Ravi which missed him narrowly and hit Rajan on the forehead who died.
The juvenile in question and other accused were named by the complainant in FIR itself. Hence, to nab them, a team led by Inspector Mukesh Antil SHO/Anand Parbat including SI Amit, SI Bhupender, ASI Bhupinder Singh, ASI Praveen, HC Pappu Ram, HC Ashok, HC Shrikrishan, Ct Rajbir, Ct Naveen, Ct Hazari Lal and Ct Ram Kishore was constituted which worked under close monitoring and supervision of Sh. Piyush Jain, ACP/Patel Nagar.
Various hideouts of the accused persons were raided. The efforts of the team bore fruit when the said team was able to apprehend the juvenile from near khatta under Jakhira flyover. The knife used in crime has also been recovered from him. Other accused have been identified and arebeing tracked.
Further investigation is going on.
