Kabir Singh is one of the biggest blockbusters of 2019. The movie has surpassed the 200 crore mark in just three weeks and there is no stopping the movie. The Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer is an official remake of the Tollywood movie Arjun Reddy. While the ideology of the film has been a topic of debate ever since the movie released, many agree that Shahid delivered a memorable performance. The actor, who played the titular role, showed different shades of his character in the movie. While critics have complimented Shahid, Kabir Singh director feels that the movie is not Shahid’s career-best performance.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga shed light on his thoughts on Shahid’s performance in Kabir Singh in a new interview. The filmmaker, who had seen a couple of movies featuring Shahid before roping him in for the Arjun Reddy remake, believes he has performed better in a previous movie. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the director said that he feels that Shahid’s performance in Kaminey stands higher than his portrayal as Kabir Singh.
“For me, I loved Kaminey. I mean, I feel Kaminey was best, I don’t know. Ya, I feel he did better than Kabir (Singh) in Kaminey. I don’t know whether I am supposed to say this but that’s what I feel,” he added. Kaminey was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
