She has been a part of major festivals like Horn OK Please, Grub Fest, Zomaland, etc but also aspires to become a counselling psychologist. The girl has her goals and dreams shaped and aren’t we slightly jealous?

Dil ki Awaaz in an exclusive interview tried to know more about her –

You have said it before that you are a self-taught singer and guitarist – what drawn you towards music?
I have been brought up in a very music-oriented environment. My father is a self-taught percussionist and my mother is fairly good at singing. Growing up, we had a small music shop set up in our house. My chacha was a DJ. So, I was always exposed to the classics blasting in our home theatre. It is a no brainer that I am very passionate and enthusiastic about pursuing music as a career.

Singing was a hobby for you, so, when and how did you decide to make a career out of it?
I started singing in my school’s choir. Gradually joined my college society and went on to perform a fundraising gig for the annual fest. I realized that I like singing as a soloist and that I’m not as bad as I believe myself to be. I took a leap of faith and started performing as a solo artist and there has been no looking back since then.

Which band/musician inspires you the most?
My biggest inspiration for singing has been Miley Cyrus. I was very fascinated by her show Hannah Montana and my school teacher discovered me because I would keep humming her songs.

You were also planning to launch your own album – by when can we expect it and what will we get to hear in it?
My own music will be out in the second half of 2020. You can hear a sound similar to some of my musical influences like Lianne La Havas, Sabrina Claudio and H.E.R

What are your future plans?
My future plans are to expand my reach as an artist and hopefully become one of India’s finest western R&B artists, all while remaining independent and not affiliated with any record company or label.
