Ajay Devgn, Kajol Devgn, Saif Ali Khan along with co-producer Bhushan Kumar and director Om Raut came to Delhi for the second trailer launch of their upcoming movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. The event was held at PVR Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
Present at the event Kajol was asked the reason for taking up the role of Savitri in Tanhaji, she said, “One of the reasons is, of course, Ajay but also I believe the women who support their husbands to go out and fight for the country are the unsung warriors themselves. My character, Savitri, is someone I am really very inspired by and was very scared to portray it perfectly on the screen and I am still scared. I’ll probably be at ease once I see the film.”
Ajay shared about the making of the film saying, “ Om and I tried to pick to as much from the history as possible but then again history is not complete. There are some chapters then something missing and then there’s something, so you start imagining and try to put things together. When you are portraying such a character, a story of such a great warrior you have to completely justify it, you have to do it with honesty and that’s what we have tried to do, as honestly as possible.”
Saif Ali Khan was amazed to see the trailer, he shared his excitement for the movie, saying, ” I seriously have never seen anything like this before it’s incredible. We used to shoot on the sets with a lot of green screens but such perfection came out of it because of the technicians, Indian technicians, I might add. They all have worked round the clock and it’s a remarkable achievement.”
Director Om Raut spoke about Producer- actor Ajay Devgan, ” I am lucky to have him as a producer. All this time he has always stood by me and never said NO to anything. We have people from all over the world who have contributed to this film and it is all because of Ajay Devgan.”
