7 Suggestions that will brighten your mood when it’s gray and gloomy outside

Delhi isn’t always super cold and hot; the city has its fair share of romantic rainy days, too. Minus the traffic jams, the brief monsoon in Delhi is nothing short of a celebration – kids are on the streets getting drenched in rain, couples are seen spending time sitting in cafes, friends make plans to reconnect, and families have a good time at popular picnic spots like India Gate. The city has so much to offer in monsoons but if you are one of those people who like rain from the window your room then here are one of the best ways to combat the seasonal downpour is to embrace it.

That’s right, it’s time to get down with some cozy pajamas and these suggestions for brightening your mood when it’s gray and gloomy.

1. SET THE MOOD

Yes before planning annoying the most important part is to set the mood right and transform a rainy day from repugnant to indulgent. Keep your overhead lights dim, or off or light some soft candles maybe. Put a nice fragrance in the room and then based on how you’re feeling, choose some music to play in the background as the soundtrack of your day.

2. DRINKS AND TREATS

Though I prefer coffee but if you are in no mode for it you can always get a bottle of chilled beer and relax with some light junk to munch on.

3. FOOD, FOOD AND FOOD. RAIN CALLS FOR FOOD !!

The best part about the rainy season is the craving for hot and spicy food and if you are Delhi vala, you know what I am talking about – masala chai and pakora’s !!

The best time to get pakora’s are right here so let’s just get our lazy ass up and chop some onions and chillies. But if this isn’t for you then some pizza and fries are already on its way.

4. GRAB YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

A rainy day is the perfect opportunity to put on some fuzzy socks, grab a blanket and curl up on the couch with a great book and just walk into a different world.

5. HAVE A MOVIE /SERIES MARATHON

If you are not a book person then movie marathon is something which you need to do on a rainy day. Feel like hosting your own little film festival? Mix some drinks and invite your friends over for a day of movie trivia and spirited debates. You won’t even miss the sunshine!

6. PLAY BOARDGAMES

Two or more people can have a lot of fun with a board game. Sadly, they used to be so much more popular than it is today because we’re so busy on our devices. If it’s overcast and you’re sitting around wondering what to do, put your phones away and play a game instead. Enjoy the rain and also your childhood memories.

7. SLEEP WELL

Everyday we get up with a thought ” bas 5 minute or soone do! “. Isn’t it? When it rains sometimes, you might not even want to get out of bed. If you can, go ahead and sleep in a little or, at the very least, linger under the sheets for a while and relax.
